<aside> 🤔 Hey! So which are the crypto friendly banks that you all recommend in Europe? Doesn’t need to offer crypto specialised services, just not frowning when receiving deposits from crypto exchanges would be enough?

<aside> 🇵🇹 As for local bank accounts, you need one for health insurance and certain other services. You will need your NIF and a local address.

I've used N26 for a while. You can open the account fully online. The app is decent. Nothing too crazy, but it does the job.
Someone invited you to join N26

Revolut is quite good. 100% online. The app could be less cluttered, but it has a lot of great functionalities (Disposable Virtual Credit Cards being my favourite).

Someone recommended ActivoBank and from what they’ve seen, most foreigners use them (but not as main account, only for Portugal related stuff).
They make appointments for opening accounts via calls under: +351 210 030 700
Millennium is the biggest and deals with crypto.
"Millennium seems fine so far".
Someone: "Millennium is the most 'flexible' bank in Portugal"
<aside> 🤨 Gonçalo warns: ActivoBank (Millenium branch) is what I have been using for years. unfortunately they have annoyingly started asking for vocal confirmations (over the phone) everytime there was a SEPA transfer from/to BCP's blacklisted IBANs (e.g., Kraken, Coinbase, ...) for 2+ years, now! 😂 Not a new thing

Banco Montepio | Produtos e Serviços para Particulares
Montepio is more straightlaced, also good.
